Happy Thursday everyone! It’s finals week here at Texas State, and lemme tell ya, I’m stressed. Stressful weeks like this can really put a damper on a positive attitude, so I have been doing things to calm me down, cheer me up, and make me happier. There are so many tools and tips to use to destress nowadays, and it is in your best interest to use them. First, you have to find things that personally work for you. Today I’ll be sharing with you a few tools that have helped me survive these past few weeks.
Today, I interviewed my roommate, Lindsey, about how she stays happy and keeps a positive outlook on life. Lindsey always tries to stay positive and seeks help from God when she goes through rough times. Enjoy our lighthearted interview as she expresses her key points to achieve happiness.
Today, I left my dog at home and I am a little down about it. She needs training, so my mom had me leave her in Houston for a few weeks so that she can get the training she needs. My apartment has never been quieter, and I hate it. Therefore, I’m making you a list of reasons you should get a dog in college (that is if you are financially able and are willing to give it the dedication an animal deserves). Really though, don’t just get an animal because you think it will be fun. Sometimes it isn’t fun, and you have to take that into consideration. Continue reading
I am currently sitting in the living room of my apartment, listening to the bustle of my roommates eating dinner, chatting and listening to music. As I was reading, the article talked about something that really stuck with me: practicing gratitude. The importance of practicing gratefulness has come up a few times in my recent past, and I figured it would be a good thing to talk about. Not just good, but important. Continue reading
Today while I was binge watching Buzzfeed videos on YouTube, I was feeling rather unmotivated. I wanted to change this, so naturally I typed “How to get motivated” into the YouTube search box, and the video that caught my attention was “Getting Motivated & Staying Positive” by YouTuber Rachel Talbott. This video encouraged me to get up and do something with my life. I marched out the door with Molly in tow, and we walked around my apartment complex as I contemplated what I wanted to change. The most telling way of how your day will pan out is by how it starts. If I start my morning out on a positive note, my day usually follows suit. I find my morning routine to be beneficial to my happiness and perspective of life. Although I cannot claim to follow this morning routine every single day (because let’s be real…8 a.m.’s), I have made it a habit to try and follow my routine most days of the week. Without further ado, here is my morning routine. Continue reading
Hello internet. My name is Chelsea Karrenbrock, and I am a sophomore at Texas State University studying Public Relations in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. A few little fun tidbits about me: I love animals (especially dogs), the outdoors, getting crafty, and I might be
slightly addicted to coffee. I am a daughter of Christ, and I am proud of who I have become with God’s help. Also, I rescued a yellow labrador retriever this past summer, and it was probably the best decision of my life (her name is Molly). Continue reading
