For today’s post, I will reviewing a blogger that I have been following for a couple of years now. Carly A. Heitlinger is the blogger and editor of the College Prepster. She is a lifestyle blogger who shares her experiences with her readers. She is originally from Florida, graduated from Georgetown University, moved to New York City, and now resides in Connecticut. Her blog has become very successful, as she partners with many brands such as Kate Spade and Shopstyle, and has many readers that interact with her blog posts.
The College Prepster stands out to me because Carly is a very personable writer, sharing her personal experiences and tips with her readers. Her writing style is informal, and she inspires me to write similarly, to share my personal voice as she does. Some of my favorite posts of Carly’s are her fashion posts. For each fashion post, she typically has a few outfit shots and talks about the outfit she is wearing. She also leaves outfit details and links at the bottom of her posts, so her readers can easily find what she is wearing. Carly posts daily, if not more, so there is always new and quality content to look at.
Another thing that has always stood out to me about the College Prepster is the header and theme. Carly has carefully branded her blog, and when you see her header, you get a good idea of who she is, as well as what her blog is about. Her blog is seamless in that all of her posts always have similar formats. Her signature pink and tortoise color choices are simple, but add character to her blog. She has a good understanding of who she is, as well as who her readers are and what they would like to see.
Overall, Carly A. Heitlinger of the College Prepster has mastered the art of blogging and self-branding. I will always be a religious reader, and I look forward to her posts every day.
Until next time,
P.s. How CUTE are Carly’s dogs, Teddy and Hamilton?!
